AEP Sustainability - Environment & Carbon

Climate Change

For more than a decade, AEP has engaged various stakeholders on the impacts, risks and opportunities associated with climate change. Today, AEP’s transition to a clean energy economy is making good progress as the path forward begins to come into sharper focus. We are achieving carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions reductions on pace with our goals for 2030 and 2050. In 2018, AEP’s CO2 emissions were approximately 59 percent lower from a 2000 baseline.
